An associate of mine told me a story about when he first joined a network marketing company. It seemed at that time everyone was preaching “Belief”. The rally cry was, “You gotta believe, You gotta believe”. His response was always, “I do believe” yet he continued to struggle in his mlm network marketing business. He was confused but his struggles. Why was his belief any different than the top earners in the company? People who were knocking down multiple six- figures a year.
A Difference in Belief?
The answer came at a live event, when he met these top producers in person. In talking with them, he noticed something different, an attitude, the way they carried themselves, how they communicated, their leadership qualities, level of commitment. It was soon obvious to him that his belief wasn’t anywhere near the level of the company’s top producers.
He sensed it when he talked to people about his mlm opportunity, often sabotaging his efforts with his own self- doubts and insecurities. He realized that he truly didn’t believe he was worthy enough to inspire and empower others to build successful businesses.
The difference between him and the top producers in the company was that he lacked the CONVICTION. The conviction about his company, the products, the compensation plan, and most damaging… his lack of conviction in himself. This was undermining everything he did.
Do You Simply Believe or Is There More?
Regardless of whether you are in mlm network marketing, own a brick and mortar business, or are climbing the corporate ladder, you need to know, without a shadow of a doubt, within every cell of your being, that you are the expert… the authority… the “go-to” person, and your company is the best and the products are the best. That doesn’t mean you know everything there is to know but that you are working towards that day after day.
Develop a Passion
Develop a passion and love for what you do. Don’t take no for an answer. Learn from the leaders in your company. Implement and take action every day. When stuck, call someone and ask questions until you get the answers. Get out and meet people and develop relationships with them. Get excited and create momentum. Simple steps to take but this is where your business takes off.
Don’t Wait
Don’t wait until everything is perfect and the planets are in alignment before you take action. That day will never come. By implementing and taking action, you create an environment that builds self-confidence, manifests love and passion for what you do and develops the conviction that pushes you to do whatever it takes to accomplish your goals.
