Every Monday thru Thursday morning I jump on a “Wake Up” call with some of the world’s top entrepreneurs and internet marketing minds. It’s 15 minutes of leadership led by leadership guru, John Jackson.
John describes the Wake Up call as, “when the rest of the world starts their day with a cup of coffee, we start our day with a cup of leadership. This is where the ‘Three Percenters’ hang out.”
Today is the first of many posts where I’ll share with you the important “take- aways” from these calls so you can get your taste of leadership each day too (contact me if you want access to the live calls).
If you’re contemplating whether or not you have what it takes to be an enterpreneur, understand that we’re not born enterpreneurs.
The skills necessary to succeed as a top entrepreneur are all learnable skills. So let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work here!
The first and most important skill to develop is an undying belief in yourself. If you feel lack in this area, change your beliefs now. There’s no magic to it. It’s a matter of changing the conversations you have with yourself. Surround yourself with people who have conversations of success, abundance.
“Change your thoughts to change your beliefs, change your beliefs to change your actions, change your actions to change your outcomes.” ~John Jackson
I’m talking about the “sure enough” syndrome. Sure enough, if you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.
Belief takes courage… it possesses you… you don’t possess it. Your life will grow in proportion to the amount of courage you display. To get where you want to go you must be strong, courageous, take risks, don’t let failure hold you back. Embrace failure as a quick lesson and move on.
Fail forward fast.
“It is far better to have sloppy success than to have perfect procrastination. It is easy to get caught up in the endless tinkering and perfecting of a project. It is true some things require perfection – most simply need excellence. All need action today!
Do you find yourself waiting to launch important projects? Are you forever splitting hairs about elements that are not mission critical. Do you spend hours and hours on details that don’t matter much?
Start your Monday with action! In taking action you may fail – but even that failure will move you forward toward ultimate success. Pick a project you have been putting off and begin today to take the action which will accelerate your path to achievement. ~ Tom Peters
Do you have what it takes to be a top entrepreneur?
Understand this… you are where you are now because of your beliefs.
Do you see yourself as a bold leader or tentative follower? Are you an enterpreneur or nonpreneur?
Become a bold leader by doing these things:
Avoid procrastination… take massive action towards your goals starting right now… kick down your self- imposed walls… monitor and dissect your excuses… don’t shift blame to others… look deep inside yourself.
Don’t be overwhelmed by your task list. Learn how to differentiate between what must get done and what can remain undone… outsource everything that someone can do for less than what your hourly value is (I’ll provide you with a great formula to calculate this in a future post).
Focus on the benefits of completing the tasks that move you closer to your goals. This will help you get over the hump… build momentum… clear the path for something much BIGGER.
Keep your emotions in check… just focus on the prize (key benefit)… don’t go at it alone… ask for help… show your vulnerability… be authentic… take a risk.
Do you have what it takes to be a top entrepreneur?
Will you do what it takes to develop the characteristics of entrepreneurs?
Are you in or are you out?
Decide and take action today.
Kyle
